Work

So the other day I was at work and I'm scrolling through my iPod looking for something to listen to and I landed on The Hobbit. Now first I already know that that's an odd choice of audio material for work, but I don't care :-).
Anyway Im listening to this splendid audio book and I realize, I've listened to this so many times that I can quote it like it was a movie or something! It was funny, I would randomly start talking along with the reader and people would look at me as I simply shrug and smirk.
Then you know what I thought? I want the Bible on audio book. Im sure they have something like that. It's such a simple thing but, like The Hobbit, I want to listen to it so much that I can just start talking right along with the reader. Can't read your Bible one day? It's cool, I got it on CD. lol
Now I realize that it's no substitute for sitting down and devoting time to the study of God's word. I just think it might be a cool way to fit scripture into my everyday life.

I think this looks sweet. What do you think? I dont like the title per say. "The Bible Experience" but I think its a cool idea. Watch the whole video, I know its long but it's good

First Contact

I have grown up watching Star Trek. Like a true nerd I have seen every movies made as well as every episode of Next Generation and am nearly finished with Voyager. This clip I am showing you is from the movie First Contact, my personal favorite in the Star Trek movie line up. Many of you have heard of Patric Stewart, most likely for his role as Professor X in the X-men series, here though he plays Jean Luc Picard Captain of the Enterprise. This is a scene from the movie that gives me goosebumps every time I watch it, not often do I find acting this good in a movie and isn't it ironic I find it in a Star Trek film. If you haven't seen First Contact hopefully you'll be able to tell from this clip that it's more than just a nerd flick.

P.S. The girl playing opposite Patrick Stewart is not bad either :-P

Song of the Week!

You're Not Afraid of the Dark, Are You?
Artist: Look Mexico

I first heard this band at a Band Marino CD release party back in 2006. I was instantly a fan. With a well rounded sound that includes steady drum beats along with melodic guitar and piano playing I find it easy to be listening to this band for hour on end. Their sound has steadily improved over the years, refining the edges so to speak. The lead vocal,
Matt Agrella, does not have a particularly unique sound but I believe he fits the music well. The song I have chosen this week is "You're Not Afraid of the Dark, Are you?" from their 2008 Ep entitled, Gasp Asp.ENJOY!

P.S. I hope to get better at these Song of the Week reviews as I do them more. Lemme know what you think of them!

Jack Be Nimble

So the idea is to speak. I get that. But what if I don't know what to say? Obviously some of you may find that hard to believe..."Tony doesn't know what to say?! Pigs must be flying!" I know some sort of exclamation like that comes to your head when I say that. But what if I sit with my fingers on all the right letters but have nothing to say? What to write about when there's nothing to write about. Well how about the tite for this blog. Have you ever just had a random thought come into your head, completely disconnected from the thoughts around them? It often happens with me when I'm trying to think about something specific, like what to name this blog post. Whats the cure??? I say, forget a cure. Your random thoughts are what keeps you sane, add humor to life, and give you personality. Now it may not always be prudent to shout out each random thought, for I'm sure at some point people will figure out you're just crazy and you'll find you've been moved to a home with a lot more padding on the walls than your used to. But take those thoughts, savor them and perhaps share them with someone who will understand. Jack be nimble, Jack be quick, Jack jump over the candle stick.
